The Elementary Years
About the Learning Program
These monthly classes provide evidence-based materials and methods that empower parents to help their children with literacy, math and other skills. The curriculum supplements formal literacy and math education, providing direct instruction to parents and children and includes customized materials and support.
Parents and children join the class together. While the kids work on skills, parents receive a lecture on a particular topic. Materials are sent home monthly, allowing parents to work with their children throughout the month.
Level 1 Classes (Ages 4 - 7* years)
Level 1 is our foundational class for new and returning families with students 4-7 years old. The curriculum focuses on building literacy and math skills as well as enhancing school and at-home learning. Parents or another adult must attend with their child and will join a lecture on an academic topic while your child works with Learning Program trained teachers.
Many of the monthly parent lectures align with subjects learned in Kindergarten and First Grade. You will also receive materials for at-home instruction.
Please note: Level 1 eligibility requires students to be 4 years old by July 31, 2024, or have attended our Early Childhood Class.
Cost: $400.00 (materials included)
Scholarships are available. Download the application form here.

Level 2 is for students who repeated Level 1 or who are 5-9* years old. (Note: this age range is just a guideline. Appropriate class level is dependent on the student's skill level.) The lecture and materials in Level 2 build on skills acquired in Level 1, adding higher-level literacy skills, such as spelling and comprehension. The coursework also introduces other subjects, like addition, time, and money.
This class features monthly parent lectures, and your child will work with Learning Program-trained parents. You will also receive materials for at-home instruction.

Junior Grad Group
Our monthly Jr. Grad Group is for students who have completed the Learning Program Level 3 class, are in 4th and 5th grades, and are interested in staying involved with their friends. The curriculum includes a combination of academics and social skills. We branch out to work on fun, academic-based games and social interaction. Students also work on reading restaurant menus, ordering, and paying for food. A precursor to Maren Prep Classes, Jr. Grad Group is a great way to continue building on skills. Please note: this is a child-only class. Parents can drop off their children OR join the Level 3 parent lecture that’s scheduled at the same time for a refresher on academic strategies and tactics.
Cost: $300.00 (materials included)
